“SERVICE, HONOR, RESPECT”
VETERANS DAY PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT AND TALK
by Richard W. Balzer

Directions to the Hannon Library

DATE & TIME: Veterans Day, November 11, at 4 p.m

PLACE: Meese Meeting Room (305)

This November SOU’s Hannon Library will host a photography exhibit, “Service, Honor, Respect,” by local photographer and SOU student, Richard W. Balzer. On Veterans Day, November 11, at 4 p.m. Balzer will present a slide show and talk about his photographic exhibit in the Meese Meeting Room (305) of the Hannon Library.

The show, inspired by visits to the Traveling Wall, The Presidio in San Francisco, and a Memorial Day visit to the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington DC., reflects on the range of emotions felt by visitors to the Wall. Balzer says he “wants these pieces, as well as the slide show, to allow some insight into the feelings of veterans and families who search the Wall for names of the fallen.” He hopes that his photographs “might also be a bridge to help some vets come home.”

This free lecture is sponsored by Hannon Library and is open to the public. For more information, call 541-552-6835.
