• GreenFILE
  This is a research database focusing on the relationship between human beings and the environment, covering topics ranging from global warming to recycling to alternate fuel sources and beyond. It is comprised of scholarly and general interest titles, as well as government documents and reports. It draws on the connection between the environment and disciplines such as agriculture, education, law, health and technology.
• Biology Digest
  Retrieves citations and abstracts for selected English language journal and magazine articles and books in biology and ecology. Abstracts explain content in non-technical English. Use link for searching SOU Library Catalog to determine SOU holdings for publications containing retrieved citations. Results may be printed, downloaded to disc, or e-mailed. Uses the FirstSearch interface (available at SOU in English, Spanish or French), which includes a link for SOU Inter-Library Loan.
• Biological and Agricultural Index
  Retrieves citations and SOU Library holdings for articles and reviews from selected journals and magazines in biology, agriculture, forestry, and ecology. May be limited to full text and scholarly journals. Results may be printed, downloaded to disc, or e-mailed. Uses the Wilson interface.
• AGRICOLA
  Retrieves citations and SOU Library holdings information for selected journal articles in agriculture and forestry. Also includes citations of selected government documents (without SOU Library holdings information). Searches may be limited to English or non-English materials, or SOU Library holdings. Results may be printed, downloaded to disc, or e-mailed. Uses the FirstSearch interface (available at SOU in English, Spanish or French), which includes a link for SOU Inter-Library Loan.
• GEOBASE
  Retrieves citations, many with abstracts, for selected journal articles and reviews, collected volumes, books, conference papers, reports in geology and geography. Includes SOU Library holdings for journal titles. May be limited to English or non-English language, document type, broad subject areas (including oceanography, physical geography, and geomechanics), or availability at SOU Results may be printed, downloaded to disc, or e-mailed. Uses the FirstSearch interface (available at SOU in English, Spanish or French), which includes a link for SOU Inter-Library Loan.
• Academic Search Complete
  This huge multi-disciplinary database has full-text for over 5300 journals, including over 4400 that are peer-reviewed. It also has abstracts for an additional 9300 journals. This database is a good starting point for many research projects.
