  • Film and Television Literature Index
    Film & Television Literature Index is a comprehensive bibliographic database covering the entire spectrum of television and film writing. Publications include Film Journal International, Journal of British Cinema & Television, Film Criticism, Post Script, Variety, and more as well as technical publications such as SMPTE. Mirroring the international film & television industries and cultures, FTLI also includes publications such as Cahiers du Cinema, Filmihullu, SegnoCinema, and Kinetoscopio. Subject coverage includes film & television theory, preservation & restoration, writing, production, cinematography, technical aspects, and reviews.
  • Academic Search Complete
    This huge multi-disciplinary database has full-text for over 5300 journals, including over 4400 that are peer-reviewed. It also has abstracts for an additional 9300 journals. This database is a good starting point for many research projects.
  • Communication and Mass Media Complete
    This is the best resource for finding scholarly and peer reviewed articles related to communication, journalism, and mass media studies.
  • MLA International Bibliography
    The MLA Bibliography is a full-text and citation database for English and foreign language literature, criticism and linguistics. It also covers folklore; literary theory; dramatic arts (film, radio, television, theater); and the teaching of literature and language. Has links to SOU journals, SOU and Summit library catalogs, and Interlibrary loan. Covers 1963 to the present.
  • Arts and Humanities Search
    Retrieves citations and SOU Library holdings for articles, reviews, comments, announcements and original works in selected journals and magazines. Searches may be limited to English or non-English materials, or SOU Library holdings. Results may be printed, downloaded to disc, or e-mailed. Uses the FirstSearch interface (available at SOU in English, Spanish or French), which includes a link for SOU Inter-Library Loan.
