 Map Collection

The Hannon Library's Map Collection is located on the First Floor,
to the right of the Reference/Information desk.

The Map Collection supports the curriculum of the University, and secondarily the information needs of the university and the broader community of our area.

  • The focus of the collection is the Southern Oregon region, and to a lesser extent the entire state of Oregon and northern California.
  • We hold a full set of current 1:24,000 United States Geologic Survey (USGS) topographic maps for both Oregon and California, supplied through depository agreement.
  • The entire United States is covered in the 1:100,000, 1:250,000, and 1:500,000 USGS series.
  • A selection of international maps is maintained for research purposes.

The Map Collection contains atlases, gazetteers, some geologic maps, flat maps in the map cases, and folded maps in the filing cabinets.
  • Search the Hannon Library Catalog for atlases, geologic maps, recent folded maps and historic urban plans and city views. Use the Keyword search and choose Maps from the Materials Type: drop down menu.
  • Local maps are featured in the Oregon atlases area and in the collection of Southern Oregon mounted maps.
  • If you have any questions about the Map Collection, contact The Reference Desk at 552-6442.
