Gift Processing

Materials are added to the Library collection based on criteria in the Hannon Library Collection Development Policy.  Materials not selected for addition to the collection may be donated to other institutions, sold, recycled, discarded or otherwise disposed.  Proceeds from sales of unwanted materials are used to benefit the Library.

Acknowledgement

Each gift of materials or money to the Hannon Library is acknowledged.  Acknowledgments typically include the date of receipt and a brief description of the gift.  In addition, the University Foundation is notified of all donations to the Library.

Donor Recognition

Gifts are identified by inserting bookplates inscribed with the donor's name upon request.

Tax Information & Appraisals

The Library cannot provide financial evaluation of the gifts it accepts, nor can it offer tax advice.  Donors are encouraged to consult a legal, accounting or professional advisor for tax and/or appraisal information.

The Friends of Hannon Library is a volunteer organization that purchases materials to improve the Library's collection.  The FHL holds regular meetings and host programs of interest.  Contact Hannon Library's Administrative Assistant at (541)552-6835 with any questions.
