Graduate students completing theses are required to provide three print copies of the approved thesis, with signature page. This is in compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules. One copy is for the department, one for University Archives, and one for the library.
The student will complete a Thesis Binding Form, showing thesis title, author, and year. After binding, one copy of the thesis is sent to the Hannon Library Collection, one copy is sent to the University Archives, and the third copy to the department conferring the graduate degree.
Hannon Library pays for the binding of one copy of the graduate thesis for the library collections, and the student pays for the other two copies. The cost is $20 per bound volume. The student must submit a check payable to SOU Hannon Library for the cost of binding two copies, as outlined on the bindery form. There may infrequently be additional fees if the thesis is over 2” thick, if it requires pockets (for maps, brochures, etc.), or if the text for the cover exceeds five lines.
Students who would like personal bound copies of the thesis will need to pay for each copy and any additional costs (usually $20 per bound copy).
This Thesis Binding Form, print copies, and any payments, must be delivered to Library Acquisitions in Library Room 229.
Graduate students completing projects are required to submit an electronic copy for inclusion in the Southern Oregon Digital Archives (SODA), in the Scholarship@SOU collection, SOU's institutional repository. Please submit the project electronically via the Submit Your Work Google form. For questions about e-submission contact the Digital Projects Specialist at libdigi@sou.edu.
The library does not require submission of print copies of graduate projects. Students wishing to have projects bound for personal use or for the academic program will be to pay for binding. This is normally $20 per copy. Infrequently there may be additional fees if the project is over 2” thick, if it requires pockets (for maps, brochures, etc.), or if the text for the cover exceeds five lines. Student will need to also submit a completed Project Binding Form. Students who want the library to add a copy of the project to the library collection will need to provide the print copy and completed form and the library will absorb binding fees.
