Students, faculty, and staff of the Oregon Extension program may borrow and request print and media items from the local general circulating collection. Access to electronic resources from outside of the library is not included.
A photo ID is required to check out or pick up library items. To avoid overdue charges, return items on time. Sign in to your library account to view loans and manage requests, or contact the Circulation desk at 541-552-6860.
Eligible items will automatically renew unless requested for Course Reserves, or by another user. When the maximum loan period is reached, users will receive a courtesy email notification, and items must be returned.
SOU Owned Books from general circulation: Guaranteed a minimum 3-week loan period, unless recalled for Course Reserves. Items will be automatically renewed in 3-week increments, for a maximum 90 day loan period.
SOU Owned Media from general circulation: Guaranteed minimum 6-day loan period, unless recalled for Course Reserves. Items will be automatically renewed in 6 day increments, for a maximum 12 day loan period.

ILL borrowing - Restricted - Option for ILL services at the Ashland Public Library.
Library Tech (laptops & chromebooks) - Restricted
Desktop Computers - Limited - Public login, 2 hour use per day with photo ID
Copy, Print, and Scan - Limited. Black and white coin operated copier, black & white and color printing with public login, and desktop scanners.
Request from Shelf - Limited. SOU owned print or media items. Hold shelf period for books: 5 days, and for media: 3 days. Items not picked up within the hold shelf period will be returned to the collection.
Library Use Only - Restricted. In house use only.
Off Campus Access to electronic resources - Restricted. In house use only.
In order to provide you with the maximum amount of time with library items, while minimizing overdue fines and ensuring equitable access for other, please return library items on time. See the Policies page for more detailed information.
Books: $.50/day, per item.
Media: $1.00/day, per item.
Recalled items: $2.00/day per item.
Replacement costs: varies and determined at the time of billing. Ranges from $25.00-over $300.00
Summit items (if eligible): $90.00 flat charge.
Damaged items: varies and determined at time of assessment.
Billing service charge: $20.00.
